This year’s ballot items.
Color Classes – The Board passed 3 Color Classes! The new classes will take effect for the 2007-2008 season, beginning May 1, 2007. The classes will be broken down as follows:

5091

smokes, shadeds, etc)
General Paragraph – The Board
passed proposed modifications to the GENERAL paragraph in the written standard,
as follows:
Proposed: GENERAL: the most distinctive feature of this cat is its appearance
of hairlessness. The Sphynx is of medium size and body conformation with
surprising weight for its size. Females are generally smaller than males.
The head shape is a modified wedge, with prominent cheekbones and
whisker pads giving a squared appearance to the muzzle. The body
feels warm and soft to the touch, with a skin texture akin to either a soft
peach or a smooth nectarine. The Sphynx is sweet-tempered, lively, and
amenable to handling.
Stricken text will be removed from this paragraph, beginning May 1, 2007.
Head Paragraph – The Board
passed proposed modifications to the HEAD paragraph in the written standard, as
follows:
Proposed: HEAD: the head is a modified wedge, slightly longer that it
is wide, with prominent cheekbones and , a distinctive
whisker break and whisker pads giving a squared appearance to the muzzle.
The skull is slightly rounded with a flat plane in front of the ears. The
nose is straight and there is a slight to moderate palpable stop at the bridge
of the nose.
Stricken text will be removed and underlined text will be added in this paragraph, beginning May 1, 2007.

Old Business that will be followed-up on:
1. General Color Description Project
Color Definitions - General Color Description Project for all CFA
Breeds
This has nothing really to do with changing the Sphynx current color
descriptions. There is a committee working on writing a generalized color
description for all colors and breeds. Similar to TICA’s if you have seen
theirs. I will be putting a question on our ballot asking members whether they
would like to endorse this project or not. As they are current proposing, if a
breed’s color description matches the new general color description, that
description will be removed from the breed’s standard. I do have to make it
clear, they are NOT forcing any breed to change their standard!
2. Breed Council Awards & Money/Donations
An account for the Breed Council will be established to start raising funds to help defray shipping costs of the BC Booth and Annual Awards for Sphynx.
Dee Dee donated last years award rosettes and there of photos in the gallery section on the BC Website.
3. 2006 BC Secretaries Meeting with Board – 2 main points include:
