Above is a photograph taken of our breed booth as it was displayed in San Mateo California, at the 2005 CFA International Show.
All photographs emailed to me were used in photo-albums and scrapbooks which complemented the items presented on the table.
Though not as visible in this photograph on the far right of the booth there was an iron rack that contained applications to our breed clubs (ISS and MEOWS), HCM Informational handouts/for donations, Breed Standard information pamphlets that are produced by CFA. Along with these items were a 6 page document that included all of the CFA registered Sphynx breeders that I could put together. (Thank you to Arden Andrews for her own PDF of world-wide breeders).
The 4 colorful 'door hangers' that you can see on the right side of the
table were examples of textures that one might feel when petting a Sphynx.
Since so many of our cats were there for exhibition and the public adores
getting a chance to pet the Sphynx I thought this would be a unique way to
get one step closer.
Additional materials to be read and handled were back issues of the Naked Truth and PSA magazines, old photographs sent to me from a long standing Sphynx breeders with over a 18 years experience on their own.
On the board itself you will notice from Left to Right:
Left - artistic form of a Sphynx embedded amongst the text. The text within this poster board goes over simple items explaining personality, our crazy colors and some of the points of interest in their form.
Middle - Myths about the Sphynx - trying to dispel how they are cold or need to be handled with satin gloves. We tried to dispel further myths that this breed is Egyptian
Right - Origin and History.
Due to the nature of our breed still being so new and fresh into CFA, I was able to put up all 3 years of our breed/class winners (03-04-05) as well as the pride of our breed, our national winners and distinguished merit's. The crowds that came through were very friendly and excited and the feed back received on the board was very encouraging.
Thank you to all that
contributed and congratulations to the winners of the past and the winners
of the future!
